Dear Friends in Christ,
You are all in my thoughts and prayers following the devastating effects of our latest rain storms. I understand it has caused many challenges; road closures, flooded basements, leaky roofs, lack of water, electricity, and communication, and some major clean up. I am so very proud and grateful for the community support of the Neighbors to Neighbors committee and the rallying of community members to help each other out. Our church family will continue to participate in helping out in our local community and reaching out to those in nearby communities who are struggling with the clean up and return to normalcy.
Taking all of this into consideration, the deacons have decided to cancel our church service this Sunday, July 16th. In lieu of a church service, I offer these words of encouragement from scripture and a prayer of support.
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint." Isaiah 40:31
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23: 4
"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6
Heavenly Creator,
We are facing hard times. We are full of questions. Why did these rains need to cause such destruction? Why are we faced with such inconveniences, challenges and difficulty? These times of questioning increase our anxiety and stress. It is hard to find peace and security in times like these.
Help us to find assurance in your holy words and promises. Guide us to accept help from others and be patient with the process of recovery that often feels like it takes far too long. Encourage us to trust in your provision, wisdom and love to see us through to the end of these challenges. Help us to feel your comforting presence and find peace for our minds. Show us how to see the positives that still exist and to count our blessings even in the midst of difficulty. Ease our fears and strengthen us and provide the endurance we need.
Thank you for all those who are working tirelessly to provide for our needs.
In Jesus, our Savior, Amen.
Please reach out to me by phone: 802-535-4757 or email mamaof3.larose@gmail.com if our church family can offer assistance in any way.
God bless you all,
Pastor Kim Larose
