April 18, 6:00 pm - MOVIE MAGIC storytelling without dialogue - Kathy Swanson - Simpson Memorial Library - Film, being a visual medium, gives a filmmaker the tools to successfully tell a story without the use of dialogue by 'showing, not telling'. The instructor will show and describe the decisions that went into her short dialogue-less film 'I Love Bagels' as well as screening other 'show not tell' examples. By viewing an assortment of short dialogue-free films, we'll discover and discuss film elements used to tell a story by communicating emotion and info in other ways.
