If you could know the truth about the threat of climate change — would you want to know? Before the Flood, presented by National Geographic, reveals a riveting account of the dramatic changes now occurring around the world due to climate change, as well as the actions we as individuals and as a society can take to prevent the disruption of life on our planet. Featuring Leonardo DiCaprio on a journey as a United Nations Messenger of Peace, the crew travels to five continents and the Arctic to witness climate change firsthand. With unprecedented access to thought leaders around the world, DiCaprio searches for hope in a rising tide of catastrophic news.

After the film, we will have a community discussion. At this discussion will be experts in the field of renewables from SunCommon to help us with strategies for action.

In Focus, presented in partnership with the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, is a new film series focusing on climate change. This winter we will screen three documentaries that address what is happening to Earth’s ice, snow and water as more of the polar ice caps melt and the weather patterns become more extreme. Local experts and community leaders facilitate post-film community conversations that provide the tools and understanding for how to create positive change in our community through education, outreach, and action.
