We are excited to invite collegiate skiers, juniors, masters, and elite racers to the Craftsbury Sprint Doubleheader this year! Classic sprints on Saturday, December 15 and freestyle sprints on Sunday, December 16. We are using the events as test runs on our newly reworked 1.5k sprint course. This event counts for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard's National Ranking List (NRL), so competitors will earn NRL points based on their qualifier position each day.

Saturday's format will be quite familiar for those who have raced a NENSA Eastern Cup in recent years. After the morning's qualifiers, the top 30 male and female competitors will move on to the open heats. Prior to the start of open heats, we will hold a 6-person A final for the top 6 masters men and women who do not make the top 30. Upon the conclusion of the open heats, the top 12 U16s and top 12 U18/20s of each gender who do not make the open heats will compete in semifinals and an A final. 

On Sunday the top 30 men and women will again move on to the open rounds, after which we are trying out a new format for the next 30 competitors of each gender, a Queen's Court. Racers ranked 31-66 in their morning qualifier will be divided up into six 6-person heats by rank (31-36, 37-42, and so on). The top two finishers in each heat will move "up" to the next highest heat, the middle two finishers will stay in that heat, and the final two will move down to the heat below. Racers will do this twice and the results will reflect the order of finish after the completion of those two rounds. We are excited to bring this format to New England and see racers of all age groups race together on Sunday afternoon.
